In the villages it's sometimes not easy to find out what is happening around us, especially as most of us do not have access to newspapers, television, internet and even those of us that have radios, sometimes cannot afford the luxury of buying batteries to power them or even have the time to listen to the radio. Even when we get to hear about something, we are not often sure about the accuracy of the information or how to make the most use of it. So our main source of information is our local village square, especially when we hear the "town crier" summons us to go to the village square. There, we get to hear important things, clarify or confirm rumors etc. Now we have this Akwamfon's virtual village square so that we can tell our stories and also get to confirm rumours about what is going on around us. We can also exchange useful information and ideas that will help us build our communities sustainably.  

If there is any information you want to find out or any news /rumours you have heard but not quite sure of its accuracy, you can ask at this Akwamfon Village square. You can do so by clicking here to fill a simple "online form" and we'll check our data base, check with reliable sources, search the internet for relevant news and information and hopefully get back to you with some answers via e-mail, or if you prefer we will post the answers here at the village square's Notice Board. Where we are not able to get the information immediately, we will post your question at the village square Notice Board where others can see and help out. We would like to know what is going on in your village or community. Send us a short story about your village/community and any completed or ongoing projects in your community aimed at improving the living standard of the people. Any question or information or idea relating to community development, education, poverty reduction, sustainable and ethical enterpreneurship, environment, vocational development, and other sustainable development issues. 

1. Any individual (men, women, school children, youths etc) with interest in sustainable development at the grassroots level and living primarily in Akwa Ibom state and elsewhere in Nigeria.
2. Any organisation (e.g. cooperatives, associations, schools, community groups, NGOs etc) in Akwa Ibom state and Nigeria at large.
3. Any individual or organisation located outside Nigeria interested in grassroots community development in Nigeria or interested in supplying as well as sharing useful information that would be of help to visitors at the village square.
4. Any individual or organisation within and outside Nigeria who would like to support an ongoing community project as a volunteer (virtually or on the ground), contribute their skills or even financial support. 
5. Communities outside Nigeria that would like to share their success stories or link to like-minded Nigerian villages to foster development.
